The Job Details are as follows:
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant position requires a hard-working, results-oriented individual who is able to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities. This role will have the opportunity to work on various projects and have visibility with various departments across OCLC.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, performing work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.
Critical team member to help ensure timely month-end and year-end close in accordance with US GAAP.
Assist with research and documentation of technical accounting matters.
Develop and document processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Assists with the global consolidation and preparation of consolidated financial statements.
Supports annual external audits.
Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Performs internal audits as requested.
Assist the Senior Manager, Tax with tax filings and reporting requirements. In some cases work as a liaison for tax responsibilities that could include assisting with federal returns Form 990, 990-T and related foreign disclosures, assist with state exempt organization filings, assist with North American sales tax reporting, transfer pricing studies and other tax matters.
Supervises and prepares responses to governmental inquiries and census requests.
Perform special projects, other ad hoc analysis, and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting required.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in public accounting or within the monthly close process in an organization.
CPA strongly preferred.
Hands-on ERP system experience, such as Oracle NetSuite.
Experience working in a global multi-company, multi-currency environment.
Experience with non-profit tax reporting is preferred, but not required.
Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrate initiative and drive when approaching assignments.
Accuracy and attention to detail
