Responsibilities

Thompson Hospitality  is looking for an energetic marketing professional who is ready to take an already well-established brand to the next level. With locations in DC, MD, VA, OH and FL we’re continue to add full-service locations as well as developing a quick service brand.  Do you have a passion for food, beverage, and service? Are you a born brand developer and marketing strategist? Then we need you!

Brand

  • Understand and communicate a consistent brand look, feel, and voice through various mediums

  • Collaborate closely with VP of Marketing and Operations team to develop programming and marketing strategy

  • Develop and manage a marketing calendar to be shared with stakeholders to include promotions, holidays, menu changes, collateral updates, events, social and newsletter, etc.

  • Be a brand guardian, ensuring each restaurant location is representative of the brand through all applicable mediums.

  • Manage a loyalty program with strategically placed promotions to increase sales. Experience with Paytronix or similar platforms is a plus.

  • Manage brand reputation sites such as Google Business, Yelp, etc.

  • Plan paid promotions and campaign through platforms such as OpenTable, Google, Instagram, Facebook, and Yelp

  • Manage customer service email, reply to guests or forward to appropriate store locations

  • Experience working with external agency partners such as PR and digital marketing

  • Drive increased online ordering

  • Support new restaurant openings by performing location and competitive analysis, developing the marketing strategy, build community relationships, and plan opening day activities that are unique to that location

Content + Design

  • Produce high quality in-store signage and branded swag

  • Work with local and national print vendors for collateral needs

  • Capture high quality photos and videos for social media

  • Produce photo shoots and coordinate with chef and freelance photographers to capture high-quality brand photos as needed

  • Design and edit menus

  • Provide copywriting for email, web, and print – provide examples

  • Evaluate and modify content needs based on promotions, engagement, guest feedback, and sales

  • Develop partnerships with local influencers to create content and expand our social media reach

Software

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) – provide design samples

  • Canva

  • Web

  • Make on-brand attractive website updates and design changes

  • Design and update content in Squarespace

  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS

  • Social

    • Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

    • Platform manager (i.e. Sprout Social or Meta Business Suite)

    Reporting

    • Experience preparing and presenting a marketing budget

    • Experience measuring the success of various marketing initiatives in a quantitative manor (budget, resources (time/money), results)

    Qualifications 

     

    • 2+ years’ experience in marketing or communications 

    • Strong customer empathy; ability to understand customer problems and needs 

    • Experience managing social media campaigns across platforms 

    • Actively research and leverage new industry tools and trends to inform marketing strategies 

    • Creative mindset, eager to learn and innovate
