Job Overview
The Global Employee Relations (ER) Center of Excellence reports to the Office of the Ombudsman and provides an independent objective guidance and services to assist all business units and functions in achieving their operational goals, positively shape relevant employee experiences and uphold core values.
Reporting to the Regional Employee Relations Head, this position will conduct investigations of workplace or ER issues and provide ER related trainings and advice to all businesses and functions. The successful applicant for this position will interact with various functional areas throughout the company including Legal, HR, Operations, etc. and will have demonstrated a collaborative nature while working in an Employee Relations function.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Key responsibilities include the following:
• Work under the guidance of the Regional Employee Relations Head to conduct independent and objective investigations regarding workplace or ER issues or complaints raised to the Office or the Ombudsman or through other channels
• Engage with management team and employees to review/discuss findings and resulting disciplinary actions or continuous improvement opportunities
• Ensure assigned ER investigations are completed in a fair, objective, timely and thorough means and in compliance with relevant policies and regulations
• Participate in the development and maintenance of ER investigation procedures to ensure all observations, findings and conclusions are supported with evidence
• In collaboration with the Labor & Employment team, promote knowledge, understanding and compliance regarding company policy and relevant Employee Relations laws and regulations through coaching, presentations and training
• Propose relevant ER solutions and act as a resource for all businesses and functions
• Provide general support as needed to Labor & Employment counsels for employment/unemployment claims
• Must be able to travel
Knowledge and Skills:
• 1-3 years’ experience in Employee Relations and/or workplace issue related investigations, Labor/Employment relations, Labor/employment law or related areas. Prior working experience and knowledge of the company is preferred
• Knowledge of employment and labor relations regulations and practice
• Interviewing skills, good command of written and verbal communication in English and Spanish (preferred but not absolute)
• Analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast moving, global and complex organization
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic with the ability to perform job functions with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment
• Proactive and ability to think strategically, capable to identify and resolve issues, be effective and efficient in a multi-tasking environment
• Understanding of confidentiality – must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• High level of integrity – must be able to represent and model integrity within the organization
