Our client, a privately owned agribusiness company, supplies high-quality, consumer-driven products to markets through Australia. Founded in 1958, the company has grown from a small, one-person operation, to employing more than 250 people in their intensive livestock and cropping operations. With a commitment to quality, and strong drive to succeed, the company is constantly exploring markets and opportunities to improve, grow and expand their operations. To support this growth, they are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual in the role of Management Accountant.
Under direction from the Chief Financial Officer, the Management Accountant will process standing journals, manage aspects of intercompany charges, update monthly report criteria, and ensure timely completion of financial accounts across specified company interests. In addition, training will be provided to the successful candidate in the management of all aspects of salaries and wages for those companies, and, if necessary, to upskill them to support the finance team in the development and roll-out of new business improvement practices and processes.
The Position:
Review current reporting processes, policies and systems against ‘best practice’ recommendations for change;
Tailor report formats to meet business needs;
Support internal accounting processes focusing on reporting, budgets, forecasting and analysis
Prepare management reports, month end and all related journals;
Prepare specific management reports including budgets and estimates as required to support the company’s operational requirements;
Provide support and advice to both the finance and management teams in the implementation of the new ERP system.
The Person:
Finance/Accounting degree qualifications essential, with or working towards CPA/CA qualifications preferred.
Broad experience in public practice or large commercial environments will be highly regarded;
Knowledge and understanding of the agribusiness environment an advantage;
Understanding of large integrated accounting systems ideal, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics D365 advantageous;
Understanding of management of project implementation across multiple sites is highly desirable;
Hands-on approach – with strong team focus;
Integrity, honesty, and openness.
