Measurement Coordinator – Offshore at Murphy Oil Corporation

The Measurement Coordinator – Offshore, is the functional leader for all the routine physical measurement activities, including Equipment Verification/Calibration, Fluid Sampling and Sample Handing, Fluid Laboratory Analysis.

 

The Measurement Coordinator will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote. They will also be required to go offshore as needed.  

 

Responsibilities     

  • Manage technical services related root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities

  • Develop standard work instructions (SWI) documents (also called standard operating procedures or SOP’s)

  • Develop and administer technician training programs

  • Develop and administer technician competency assessments

  • Conduct capability/compliance assessments (audits) on contracted services

  • Manage test equipment certifications

  • Oversee and/or witness critical calibration work

  • Manage all related technical services data capture and record creation

  • Review, comment, and contribute to Company PMA Operational Engineering Standards (OES) and as required Balloted Industry Standard (e.g., API, GPA, etc.)

  • Develop/optimize field PMA work frequencies

  • Develop preferred PMA vendor lists

  • Factory acceptance test or similar acceptance testing of new equipment

  • PMA design basis on new projects

 

Licenses/ Certifications

  • All required Company and regulatory valid certifications

  • Lifeboat, Water Survival HUET, First AidCPR and Rigging

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in measurement control, technical service and/ or equipment maintenance related work in the oil and gas industry

  • Must be able to travel offshore once a quarter

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree

  • At least 10 years of oil and gas related experience

  • Prior service as an instrument/measurement technician

  • Prior experience managing instrument/measurement technicians

  • Offshore operations experience

  • Experience in hydrocarbon fluid laboratory analysis
