Mental Health Claims Biller (Part-time) at Effective School Solutions

ESS Overview: Effective School Solutions (ESS) is one of the country’s leading providers in school-based mental health services for K-12 students. Serving over 4,000 students across nine states in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and the West Coast regions, our company was founded based on the concept of offering the types of higher acuity clinical care that students would normally receive in a private practice or private school setting within the public-school building. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Mental Health Claims Biller. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to the success of the company while maintaining a flexible part-time schedule.

Position Overview: As a Mental Health Claims Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement from third-party payers. This position involves working closely with the finance and billing teams to optimize revenue streams and maintain compliance with reimbursement regulations.

  1. Claims Processing:

    • Prepare, submit, and track reimbursement of mental health claims to insurance payers through third party billing systems.

    • Review and verify accuracy of claim information, including patient eligibility, patient demographics, procedure codes, and insurance details.

  2. Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of reimbursement-related documents.

    • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and standards.

  3. Communication:

    • Collaborate with internal teams, including billing, finance, and clinical staff, to resolve any issues related to reimbursement.

    • Communicate with third-party payers to address inquiries, denials, and appeals.

  4. Data Analysis:

    • Assist in analyzing reimbursement trends and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

  5. Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to all relevant compliance standards in reimbursement processes.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or finance-related role is required.

  • In-depth knowledge of third-party reimbursement processes and regulations.

  • Strong attention to detail, showcasing precision in tasks and documentation.

  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work seamlessly within a team environment.

  • Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and the dynamic nature of reimbursement processes.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

This is a part-time position, with flexible hours based on the candidate’s availability. Approximately 5-10 hours per week initially with up to 15 hours per week at scale.
