Senior Accountant at Medical Transportation Management

MTM, Inc. is growing and hiring a Senior Accountant. This role is hybrid of work from home and one day a week in the office (Lake St. Louis location)

What Will Your Job Look Like?

The Senior Accountant is a member of the MTM Accounting and Finance team working with the accounting systems to complete general accounting responsibilities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Independently and accurately complete assigned monthly journal entries within published Accounting timeframe and guidelines

  • Maintain appropriate skills and knowledge of Accounting systems and tools

  • Ensure compliance with all Accounting policies and procedures

  • Ensure all accounting procedures conform to GAAP

  • Maintain appropriate documentation and approvals for all transactions

  • Complete and review all assigned monthly & quarterly account reconciliations including general ledger account assignments in accordance with published Accounting timeframe and guidelines

  • Perform monthly/quarterly financial reporting analysis including, but not limited to: Monthly Financial Statement Analysis, Contract Analysis, Budget/Actual Analysis

  • Responsible for monthly/quarterly trend and budget variance explanations for financial reporting

  • Complete client required documents in a timely and accurate manner

  • Prepare the required “Client Prepared Schedules” and complete prior to the start of audit field work

  • Maintain close contact and good working relationships with the auditors to enhance audit relationship

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Sales and Use tax returns

  • Maintain the General Ledger System

  • Support Accounting by utilizing software to analyze data

  • Assist in department process improvement & controls

  • Perform special Projects assigned by management

What You’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Accounting

  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word

  • Previous ERP experience required, Workday Financials experience preferred
