Software Engineer Co-Op at Mueller Water Products

This position is a paid internship/co-op for a college student currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or another related field. The duration of this internship is expected to be 12 – 16 months. This position will provide entry level support to the Mueller Water Products Software Engineer department and its user community with a focus on simulation. LOCAL Atlanta, GA CANDIDATES ONLY.

We are looking for a developer intern to be part of the team advancing Mueller’s leak detection and condition assessment technology stack on AWS Cloud. The successful candidate will integrate with our software development team and work on our cloud-based platform. Full stack development work will include SQL databases, C# .NET Core services, AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, and SQS, and a modern Angular front end. Building complex solutions is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to quality is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of custom applications, both on the client and server-side

  • Working with Quality Assurance to develop and support test plans

  • Produce well-documented and easy-to-read code

  • Support products from release to Quality Assurance through field trials and production including bug fixes and product improvement

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Completed 2 or more years of a relevant university program (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar)

  • Experience with modern revision control tools such as Git

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrably excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team contributor

  • Ability to produce detailed technical documentation

Preferred: 

  • Experience in web UI development using modern frameworks preferably using Angular

  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL programming

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, such as EC2, S3, API Gateway, SQS, and Lambda

  • Experience within an Agile development environment
