An ideal candidate for this role is someone that with an inquisitive nature to learn challenging tasks who works well both independently and with other members of the accounting team and Company. This candidate also needs to have a very strong knowledge of GAAP and be able to research and determine the appropriate answer for complex accounting transactions. The candidate should be able to document accounting processes, identify areas where automation can be employed, and ensure all processes follow GAAP and the Company’s standard procedures. (Knowledge of how to execute the automation not a requirement but is a plus).
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Complete monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Review and analyze monthly profit and loss statements
Prepare and review schedules for year-end financial statement audit
Develop and document SOPs (standard operating procedures) for assigned tasks
Research, interpret and communicate appropriate accounting policies for complex accounting transactions
Drive continuous improvement of business processes and systems by proposing improvements and working with team to drive efficiencies through automation
Participate in training and mentorship of accounting staff
Complete other ad hoc projects as assigned
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) with a major in accounting required
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of prior accounting, finance or audit experience required, public accounting experience a plus
Knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting concepts
Strong analytical aptitude – demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work with large data sets and analyze/compare records
Knowledge of accounting/ERP systems and supporting financial systems (Oracle Cloud a plus)
Knowledge of financial transaction processing, both automated and manual
Experience working in financial environment with multiple legal entities and multiple systems that interface to a general ledger with a complex chart of accounts
Intermediate-level Excel skills as well as familiarity with other Microsoft Office products and G-Suite
The national average hiring range for this job is $ 66,076.00 – 78,726.50 and the salary can fluctuate based on geographic location and qualifications. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to: education, work experience, certifications, labor markets, etc. This role includes an opportunity for company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Core Company Performance Bonus.
The actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
