Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a talented Temp Video Editor for its Blizzard Video team. Blizzard Video is the internal creative video and post-production arm of the Story & Franchise Development team. We exist to engage, inform and activate the global Blizzard community through the creation of epic video content.

Blizzard Video needs a dedicated video editor to focus on marketing content and special projects supporting a variety of our titles. This person should have strong professional editorial and visual storytelling experience, as well as outstanding communication skills. They should be highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Provide creative video editorial for a wide range of projects for broadcast on our internet channels and live events, working with a mix of game capture, motion graphics, music, and sound effects to create works that excite, inform, and still tell a story.

• Collaborate with directors, capture artists and graphic designers as well as working independently to meet project milestones.

• Facilitate content reviews with stakeholders and implement director notes.

• Ingest, organize and update footage; music and sound effects pulled from our library; locate archival assets necessary to support their assignment objectives.

• Generate reviewable files and outputs for Sound and work closely with the remote assistant editors to hand off master sequences for processing and delivery.

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ professional editorial experience.

• Deep knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.

• Strong ability to edit music to maximize impact.

• Good sense of timing, pacing, and controlling story flow through editing.

• Basic Color Correction skills.

• Experience interfacing with departments and artists outside of post-production (e.g. Sound, Game Teams, etc.).

• Knowledge of current post-production industry-standard workflows and archival organization.

• Strong visual storytelling skills, including a demonstrable understanding of good composition, screen direction and the 180-line, continuity & eye trace.

• Demonstrated expertise working in short form media and visual storytelling (Social content, commercials, sizzle reels, trailers, shorts, etc.).

• Able to work well under tight deadlines and quick project turnover.

• Able to collaborate with Directors, Producers, Graphics and Capture team members.

• Able to proactively contribute solutions in a highly collaborative environment.

Pluses

• Familiarity with gaming culture and an interest in video games.

• Familiarity with Blizzard’s game worlds and the stories told within them.

• Familiarity with capturing game footage.

• Compositing and 2D effects (Adobe After Effects).

• Animation/3D Title Creation/Storyboarding/or other related skill.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 – $55.14 Hourly. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
