Project Manager at Kent Pet Group

Kent Pet Group, a member of the Kent Corporation family of companies has a BRAND NEW opportunity to join their team as a Project Manager! This role will be a key leader in helping business leaders develop and lead the project plan.  They will manage critical innovation, cost savings, and other projects to advance our business goals.  They will manage project details, including timelines, resources, analytics, costs and scope changes that impact project timelines. In addition, the Project Manager will work to build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams to execute projects through the stage gate process.  

 

  • This is a salaried position, based in Muscatine, IA

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop project plans and timelines with business partners

  • Lead cross functional teams to execute the project plan

  • Provides analytics, project results, scope changes, and/or delays to project timelines

  • Presents key topics and areas of concern to senior management

  • Manages resource needs, assign and tracks project deliverables

  • Tracks and manages project reporting to educate senior management on critical business projects and provides recommendations

  • Develops and implements processes to execute projects efficiently and effectively through the stage gate process

  • Multiple concurrent projects may be assigned

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, marketing, or related field. 

  • Formal certification through PMI is a plus

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 or more years of experience working with project management software and techniques including previous experience planning and coordinating cross functional teams

  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office products

  • Proficient in project management software and techniques

  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills working with individuals, cross-functional teams and all levels of an organization

  • Detailed attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines

  • Capable of bringing creative approaches to project management including motivational techniques and team building approaches

  • Ability to maintain a substantial knowledge of our core business strategies, product lines, and systems

  • Capable of looking for and implementing process improvement ideas to reduce cost, increase quality, or improve communications in the organization

  • Ability to effectively communicate overall project vision and devise a detailed plan to reach that vision
