Trace Systems is hiring a Jr. Technical/Proposal Writer. The technical writer leads or supports development of content by creating content around services and solutions in response to government proposal requirements. This position will work across multiple technology and capability areas, as well as with multiple functional organizations.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide professional technical writing and editing services in response to government proposal requirements
Assess and understand government RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, or other solicitation documentation for technical response requirements
Develop original technical content for proposals and documentation libraries for existing technologies and service offerings by interviewing SMEs as needed
Research, analyze, and identify relevant company proposal materials and program intelligence that can be adapted to writing assignments
Write clear, persuasive content based on based on knowledge, research, and input from SMEs
Work with different technical teams, functional teams, and proposal management to develop, write, and/or edit technical documents in accordance with government requirements
Research and gather technical and background information from multiple sources for inclusion in proposal responses
Manage and coordinate data calls to and from SMEs, internal contributors, and subcontractors
Ensure that requirements are met, and documentation is clear, concise, and understandable
Review content for compliance, quality, and accuracy
Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
At least a minimum of three (3) years relevant writing and editing experience
Ability to write and edit technical documentation with inputs and information from technical SMEs, BD, Proposal, Functional, and Executive teams
Expertise in assessing technical information and writing content suited to a general or specific audience as required
Experience interviewing SMEs and translating technical jargon
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced desktop publishing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Experience working with DoD contracting
Understanding of concepts including tactical communications, information technology, and information assurance
Experience with work breakdown structures and project staffing/consulting rate structures as it relates to proposal development
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Problem solving, organization, and time management skills to balance and prioritize work
Excellent writing, proofreading, and editorial skills in English
Excellent time management, communication, and collaboration skills
