Junior Graphic Designer and Video Editor at Thuma

Thuma is looking for a talented and ambitious Junior Graphic Designer & Video Editor with an eye for minimal and elevated design aesthetics, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the desire to make an impact at a design-driven company.

Reporting to the Senior Art Director, the Junior Graphic Designer & Video Editor will be instrumental in creating on-brand marketing materials that captivate our customers and elevate our brand presence across various platforms. The right candidate has passion for typography, color theory, layouts and composition, film, and photography, as they come together to create innovative, brand elevating designs and videos that seamlessly solve marketing and brand objectives. Working alongside a team of graphic designers, the Junior Graphic Designer & Video Editor will elegantly solve brand problems in ways that align with brand values. 

While Thuma is based in San Francisco, our team is spread across the country. This role is flexible and can be based in San Francisco or New York City.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce engaging marketing assets, including but not limited to emails, site banners, social media graphics, digital ads, print collateral, and videos.

  • Collaborate with the brand team to maintain a consistent visual identity across various channels and platforms.

  • Translate creative briefs and marketing objectives into visually stunning design concepts, integrating video elements seamlessly where necessary.

  • Create and edit graphics, and videos to be used in marketing materials, ensuring they are visually striking, properly formatted, and optimized for digital and print media.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas and fresh design approaches to the team.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, e-commerce, and product development, to understand their design and video editing needs and deliver creative solutions that align with business objectives.

  • Solicit and incorporate feedback to refine designs and videos, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest quality standards and are delivered within established timelines.

  • Utilize video editing techniques such as color correction, audio enhancement, motion graphics, and visual effects to create captivating video content.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience in designing for digital platforms, including email marketing, websites, social media, and online advertisements.

  • A strong understanding of typography, color theory, composition, and layout principles, with the ability to translate them effectively into both static and video-based designs.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).

  • Meticulous attention to detail, a keen eye for visual consistency, and the ability to adhere to brand guidelines while bringing creativity and innovation to design solutions.

  • Resourceful and self-starter approach to work and a constant desire for feedback.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a professional team environment.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced and serious environment.

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and experience with responsive design is a plus.

This Might Describe You:

  • 2+ year experience in a graphic design and/or video editing role or other relevant experience in-house or at an agency.

  • A portfolio demonstrating an exceptional sense of aesthetics, with a focus on minimal and elevated design styles, and showcasing video editing skills.

  • Experience in design-led lifestyle brands and DTC/e-commerce is highly preferred (Fashion or luxury experience is a plus).

  • A deep love for design, furniture and exceptional customer experiences.

$65,000 – $75,000 a year

Thuma provides an estimate of the compensation for roles that may be hired as required by state regulations.
