Swagel Wootton Eye Institute is seeking a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon to join our established and growing practice in Arizona’s Phoenix East Valley.

For more than 60 years, Swagel Wootton has cared for generations of Arizona patients while continuing to evolve alongside advances in ophthalmology. Today, our physicians are supported by experienced clinical teams, modern diagnostic and surgical technology, an established patient base, and a dedicated ambulatory surgery center.

We are looking for a surgeon who enjoys comprehensive ophthalmology, has a strong interest in cataract surgery, and is comfortable offering patients the full spectrum of modern lens and surgical options. Experience with premium IOL technology and advanced cataract surgery is strongly preferred.

What You Can Expect
This opportunity is designed for a physician who wants to focus on practicing medicine and building a successful surgical practice without having to build the infrastructure around it.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Develop a busy comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery practice within an established patient and referral network.
• Perform cataract surgery using contemporary surgical techniques, advanced diagnostics, and a broad portfolio of premium IOL technologies.
• Practice alongside experienced Ophthalmologist and a highly trained clinical team supporting the patient journey from initial evaluation through surgery and postoperative care.
• Work closely with dedicated surgical counselors who help educate patients and coordinate their surgical experience.
• Operate in our two-room ambulatory surgery center located directly alongside our Mesa clinical practice.
• Participate in the continued growth and clinical development of a well-established Arizona eye care organization.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Ophthalmology
• 2-5+ years of experience performing cataract surgery preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with premium lens technology and refractive cataract techniques.
