Job Description

Aircraft Leads will be the first line of supervision for their crew members. Will evaluate assigned aircraft in work and plan and coordinate daily work assignments with team members to meet aircraft budgetary estimate and delivery date. Ensure all parts, tooling and as required outside services have been ordered to meet schedule requirements. Assists in providing clarification for team member technical questions. Assure all work accomplished by his/her crew is in accordance with required technical documents, manuals and/or applicable written directions. Maintains work in process orders in an orderly fashion and that all work document status in up to date and accurate. Ensures that the team stays productive and compliant to requirements. Ensure all assigned team members maintain a clean and orderly work area following clean as you go” practices and that all safety instructions are followed. Responsible to ensure beginning and end of shift tool inventories are complete IAW company requirements. Monitor end of shift clean up ensuring proper time is used. Must be able to evaluate work in progress and relevant feedback to management. Immediately advise management of any issue that may impact his/her team and/or aircraft schedule or budget. Directly responsible to the Operations Manager for the aircraft he/she is assigned.

Must have at least 5 years’ aircraft experience. Must be able to use all hand tools to include but not limited to; drills, rivet guns crimpers, PME, meters, and soldering irons. Must be able to read and interpret aircraft drawings, wiring diagrams, manufacturing specifications, and technical orders. Must be able to communicate effective instructions for various job taskings to include structural installations, Sheetmetal repairs, mechanical troubleshooting, wire/harness routing and electrical troubleshooting and repairs. May assemble aircraft components such as various assemblies and subassemblies. Must have a clear understanding of the quality requirements. Must be able to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as required.

Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and chemicals (MPK, alcohol wipes, and D wipes). Must be able to bend and reach and lift 50 lbs. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively.

Familiarity of C-130 Requirements, Drawing Structure, and Technical data

Ability to work with customers, and team members in a professional manner

Assigns work to team members

Provides technical assistance to team members

Insures productivity of team members

Ensures compliance of team members to all program requirements

Microsoft Office proficiency with Excel and Word

Report daily on aircraft status to Supervision

Strong understanding of DCMA 8210C requirements

Basic knowledge on the use of SAP

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of aircraft Electrical/Avionics experience

Ability to utilize computer-based systems to perform duties

Basic knowledge of Excel

Basic knowledge of SAP

Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule
