Position Description: Oversee, lead, and direct insurance program renewals and coverage placements for clients. As member of Risk Management Leadership Team. Supervise risk analysis, data analytics, and related marketing staff across company.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategy of insurance coverages and program development across company and with external clients.
- Direct company and client renewal activities with brokers.
- Analyze, review, and approve quotes for insurance renewals for company and/or clients within approval authority; present analysis and make recommendations to leadership for renewals outside approval authority.
- Lead, set, and manage insurance renewal schedule, practices and processes.
- Develop, recommend, and manage insurance program coverage needs and proactively assess impact of evolving company and/or client business needs on coverage, market conditions, and program renewals.
- Foster relationships and build partnerships with insurance brokers and carriers; negotiate brokerage service agreements.
- Participate in all broker and client stewardship meetings.
- Authority to bind lines of insurance coverage independently and within approved authority for company and/or clients.
- Oversee, review, and approve insurance program coverage proposals managed by staff.
- Develop and administer insurance programs and contracting policies; set and communicate expectations internally and with external clients.
- Serve as subject matter expert on technical insurance programs and serve as escalation contact for questions.
- Contribute technical content for insurance programs training materials.
- Oversee Risk Analysts responsible for gathering application data to comply with policy reviews and renewal processes.
- Host and participate in industry events, represent company and set standards as industry leader.
- Manage staff responsible for developing insurance program marketing tools, presentations, and communications.
- Deliver timely performance feedback for staff and complete performance appraisals during annual performance cycle.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or similar program; and a minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance or risk management or claims with emphasis on construction; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Broker, Insurance Consultant, or Public Adjuster license required, and/or valid Juris Doctorate with law license, required
- Risk management CPCU, ARM or similar insurance designation, preferred
- Construction industry risk management experience, desired
- Firm understanding of contracts and insurance documents
- Align complex business needs with insurance market trends
- Demonstrate executive level negotiation and influencing skills
- Build engaging partnerships with team and organizational stakeholders through trust, teamwork and direct communication
- Advanced executive level presentation skills, anticipate needs of technical and non-technical audiences and tailor communications appropriately
- Advanced project leadership skills, able to manage concurrent complex projects and tasks successfully to completion
- Critical organizational analysis skills with high analytical problem-solving skills
- Advanced at processing and breaking down data into actionable information and presenting solutions
- Leader with organizational management skills, capable of directing, managing, and developing regional teams
