This position requires having completed a BA or MS (or upcoming 2024 graduate) in Electrical Engineering, Physics Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering.
This position is hybrid requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at our Westinghouise Global Headquarters in Cranberry, PA (greater Pittsburgh area). Note that all hybrid opportunities are at the descretion of the manager. We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future, as we are not able to sponsor visas. Please note relocation assistance is not provided for this position.
Your Day-to-Day:
As a member of the Electric Physical Design group, the Junior Engineer will perform engineering evaluations and analyses of technical products and services to support operations for nuclear power plants in the nuclear safety and performance field.
A variety of engineering tasks to support operations for nuclear power plants.
Using 3D/2D design tools.
Work with IEEE or IE codes
Documentation analysis
Propose solutions for technical challenges that may arise during projects.
Collaborate with international project teams through written/verbal communication.
Occasional travel to customer sites or to Industry Group Workshops (to gather or present technical information) required.
Must be open international travel as needed.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
You possess a BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering.
You graduated between the years of 2022-2024 and desire to grow your Nuclear power plants knowledge to become a Nuclear Energy master.
1-2 years of professional or academic experiences like internships & research projects.
Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles
3D/2D design tools
Familiar with IEEE or IE codes
Strong preference for coding with Java (or similar) but NOT required.
Able to perform documentation analysis and reporting
You have a predisposition for multi-tasking, are flexible, work to underand project priorities and understand the importance & value of teamwork.
Nice-to-Have
Masters Degree
Jave or other coding language
Nuclear industry
Experience with IEEE or IE codes
