Events Coordinator at Professional Engineering Consultants

Our work takes us across the nation and around the world to design an increasing variety of projects from highways to hospitals, water towers to wind turbines, stadiums to sidewalks, and everything in between.

How your skills will be used:

The PEC Events Coordinator will be responsible for every aspect of event planning. Events include but are not limited to industry conferences, tradeshows, and client events. The coordinator will bring industry best practices, corporate brand, business objectives, and goals to the job. They will serve as a brand ambassador, engaging with internal client, external customers, vendors, and other partners to bring the best possible customer experience forward. You will:

  • Maintain a positive public image, increase awareness, and shape perception of the firm through customer experiences, event planning, and vendor relationships

  • Lead the planning of conferences, trade shows, and events, including but not limited to industry events, golf tournaments, industry booth displays at trade shows, etc.

  • Monitor activities in the industry to keep up with best practices

  • Utilize marketing metrics to formulate strategies for effective events.  Analyze data from events to measure effectiveness

  • Provide expertise and guidance on event selection and  on future event improvement t

  • Attendance at most planned events will be required as part of PEC’s quality assurance (QA) process with occasional attendance at conferences or trade shows.

  • Work with Marketing team to train internal client to improve event outcomes

  • Develop content and train internal clients to improve event outcomes

  • Work with internal clients to build strategy, write, and submit speaker/presentation abstracts; meeting hard submission deadlines

  • Assist internal clients and Communications Team Lead to write, and publish industry-relevant content (such as key conference takeaway articles) to build brand identity and online presence

  • Liaise with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency

  • Partner and collaborate across all PEC departments and teams to produce effective events

  • Work with team members and management to drive schedules, milestones, and priorities

  • Work with team member to produce effective in-person, hybrid, and digital events

Please apply if your background includes:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, business administration, or similar

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a similar role either in-house or at an agency

  • Experience with Microsoft Office application, Adobe Creative Suite, and HubSpot

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Values building internal and external professional relationships

  • Self-starter who requires little to no supervision to meet deadlines

  • High energy, positive, professional attitude, takes pride in work, superior attention to detail

  • Team-oriented, collaborative work style
