Adelaide Plains Council, located within a 40 minute drive from Adelaide CBD, is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Executive Assistant to CEO and Mayor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to support the CEO and Mayor and contribute to a dynamic community focused workplace.
Based at the Mallala office and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Provide high-level executive secretarial and administrative support to the CEO and the Mayor
Effective and efficient management of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer
Organise receptions, ceremonies and functions officiated or hosted by Chief Executive Officer or Mayor
Ensure that documents are appropriately managed and recorded and the highest level of confidentiality is maintained
Manage incoming and outgoing communications, with the ability to understand competing priorities
Diary Management for the CEO and Mayor
Provide backup and support to the Governance Administration Office and Accounts team
Assist with all Executive content for inclusion in the Council’s newsletter the ‘Communicator’
Undertake project and research work as prescribed by the CEO.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Diploma in Executive Office Management, Local Government or similar or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated experience in an executive and/or personal assistant role
Excellent attention to detail with unquestionable integrity and confidentiality
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated ability to work in a politically sensitive environment
Strong customer service ethos
A high level of organisation, time management and prioritisation skills.
To be successful in this role, you will be an enthusiastic, motivated and personable Executive Assistant with strong listening, verbal and written communication skills. A working knowledge of the Local Government Act 1999 (SA), local government administration and legislation will be highly regarded.
