As the Maintenance Technician, you will:
… be responsible for all repairs, physical maintenance, and ensuring preventive maintenance is scheduled as needed for the community and individual apartments. You will ensure preventive maintenance is scheduled and performed on all equipment as needed.
What you’ll do here:
Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs making notes and recommendations using an established checklist.
Maintain grounds including outside residence repair, lawn maintenance, and garbage removal or coordinates services with outside vendors where appropriate.
Maintain or oversee repair of facility equipment; ensure equipment is functioning properly and staff are trained appropriately in its use
Provide consistent documentation of compliance to life safety and regulatory requirements as directed per federal, state and/or local regulations (e.g., Fire Drills, Daily Rounds, Evacuation Drills, and other associated documents)
Aid or instruct housekeeping to maintain floor covering in the hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, parking lots and other community areas
Prepare apartments for move-in and completes refurbishing of apartments after move-out, including but not limited to the following: paint, appliance replacement, flooring as appropriate, and any additional upgrades as needed to prepare resident rooms
Perform troubleshooting and repairs to plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems throughout the community
Have a knowledge and understanding of the safe operation and use of hand and power tools used throughout the general maintenance industry
Schedule maintenance checkups on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, fire alarms, generators, washer and dryer, kitchen equipment and emergency pull cord equipment
Maintain the interior finishes and first impressions of the community, including but not limited to: painting, wall repair, lighting, other finishes, including counters, cabinets, door and windows, other surfaces or finishes as directed by the community
Additional duties as assigned.
We’d love to talk if:
You have two to three years of experience in facility maintenance including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
You meet, have or are eligible to obtain all applicable state requirements and certifications
You have written and oral English communication skills
You care about serving seniors
Bonus points if:
You have previous experience within a facilities position in a senior living or healthcare environment
You have a High School Diploma (or equivalent)
You have experience interacting with individuals diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
Pay Range: $17.50 – $20.50 / hour, based on experience
