Mid-Level Graphic Designer (Contract, Part-time) at Human Agency

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer for a part-time, remote position (U.S. based candidates only).

Hours: 8–16 hours per week. At least 8 of those hours should be fulfilled Monday – Friday from 8am to 6pm EST or PST.

Availability: Ideally someone who could commit to a recurring 8 hours 1x a week or 4 hours 2x a week. (ie – 9am to 5pm on Tuesdays OR 12pm to 4pm Wednesdays and 8am to 12pm Thursdays)

Rate: $50–$75 / hour depending on experience. 8 hours guaranteed pay per week with opportunity for this role to grow in time.

Qualifications:

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in graphic design with a refined sense of typography and layout

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Graphic Designer with Social, Presentation, Web, and Brand experience

  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics and design principles

  • Willingness to learn and educate yourself on a variety of industries

  • Proficiency in Figma and Keynote required

  • Ability to perform in a fast paced and high-impact work environment: see the big picture, stay organized, prioritize, and manage time to meet deadlines

  • Solid communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a remote team environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to present complex ideas and bold ideas to a range of audiences

  • Be a good human

Bonus Points:

  • An understanding of nonprofit organizations and campaigns

  • Interest in progressive politics and progressive causes

  • Love of typography

  • Experience with illustration, motion graphics, and animation

  • Expertise in web accessibility and DEI design

The successful applicant will work directly with our Creative Director, fellow designers, writers, and client managers on marketing, branding, web, and print projects for a variety of client projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Creative team by designing and managing client brand assets (logos, style sheets, illustrations, email templates, social media graphics and online ads).

  • Help create web mockups, style guides, page designs and components for interactive client projects.

  • Help produce print and online style guides to document brand standards (messaging, language, colors, fonts, illustration, iconography).

  • Create social media graphics, ads, signage, merch, and animations.

  • Collaborate with design and project team members and clients to develop unique solutions for clients.

  • Produce clean files that are digital, and print production ready.

  • Assist in creating new company marketing materials, including case studies, sales documents, social media graphics, and copy content.

  • Help the design department optimize and document processes and workflow.
