Job description:

A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager with solid construction experience to join our team in Melbourne, to help deliver our Land Lease Community projects across Victoria.

The Opportunity – About the Role

Reporting to the National Project Manager for Land Lease Communities, you will lead the Project Management team in Stockland’s Halcyon Land Lease Communities (LLC) and oversee the delivery of a range of projects in Greater Melbourne, Victoria – typically between 1 and 4 projects at a time. These are lifestyle communities for over 50s comprising of detached dwellings, clubhouses and recreational facilities (pools, bowling greens, etc).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project management expertise from project inception to completion in partnership with Development Managers and other key stakeholders.

  • Ensure projects are scoped, designed, built and delivered on time, budget and to required quality specification.

  • Facilitate, manage and drive efficiency through project cost plans in partnership with Development Managers, authorities, consultant and contractors to realise cost savings.

  • Achieve project construction milestones across multiple construction fronts in the State or Region’s project portfolio.

  • Demonstrate innovation to create financial benefit for the State or Region.

  • Demonstrate implementing solutions to construction challenges.

  • Manage and contribute to relationships with key stakeholder groups including the contractors, consultants, approval authorities to achieve required business outcomes and in a manner that enhances the image and reputation of Stockland.

  • Establish partnering relationships with relevant external contractors, consultants and suppliers to facilitate cost, value and/ or program efficiencies to Stockland.

  • Ensue project priorities are clearly established and frequently communicated with all key stakeholders.

  • Provide proactive risk identification, management and mitigation.

  • Effective accountability and implementation of risk and compliance management within your area of control.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, engineering or similar preferred.

  • Demonstrated Project Management experience in construction projects >$20m

  • 10+ years’ experience in property with experience working for a contractor preferred.

  • Experience in residential construction techniques imperative.

  • Experience with civil works / land subdivision would be beneficial.

  • Extensive experience in managing construction teams and consultants.

  • Strong communicator, able to present to senior management, gain the respect and support of their team and of contractors and able to resolve conflict when it emerges.

  • Strong leadership skills to drive accountability.

  • Customer centric.

  • Strong ability to lead, drive and motivate contractors and consultants to achieve program milestones.

  • Proven track record of achieving results through influencing and relationship building skills.
