THE OPPORTUNITY

Requirements

Our client is seeking a talented content writer to work with their team on a contract basis. They aim to increase their content production beyond the founders’ ability to write thought pieces, to distribute through social channels. You will be responsible for producing one piece of content per week in the format of a blog post. The topics will focus on data security, but will also include analysis of recent data breaches, details of product releases, and interesting news and technology related to security.

They are looking for someone who can write with an authoritative and succinct voice, specifically to avoid the hollow, “marketing speak” of content optimized for SEO or generated by AI. Their goal is to deliver value to customers, prospects and fans of their client through insightful, practical content. They like to deliver information with detail and humor.

Responsibilities

  • Produce one piece of content per week in the format of a blog post

  • Research and analyze data security topics

  • Collaborate with the CEO to refine the final draft

  • Edit and proofread content for accuracy and clarity

Qualifications

  • Fluent in writing in English, discussing technical concepts

  • High-level understanding of SaaS/cloud technology components, such as APIs and databases

  • Interest in startups and emerging technologies

  • Excellent research and analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Expectations

The right candidate will spend approximately 3 hours per content. You will work directly with the CEO, who will provide sketches of posts and collaborate on refining the final draft. Content can be delivered as formatted text (paragraphs, headers, call-outs, etc.). The CEO can also assist to elaborate on content with examples, code samples, or citations as needed.
