GPI seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide a range of services as part of an integrated building services design team for our Metro NY office in Suffern, NY. We are seeking someone with a good work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work collectively with our team, and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing system design calculations and other related design services including coordination with the other trades (architectural and engineering and/or internal and external)

  • Preparing drawings detailing the system designed

  • Leading project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets

  • Mentoring and delegating tasks to junior staff

  • Interfacing with clients (as required) and attending design meetings

  • Performing construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects

  • Selecting equipment and fixtures for use in the building


What You Bring to the Table:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required

  • 10+ years’ experience designing Mechanical HVAC Building Systems

  • EIT required; PE is preferred

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit preferred

  • Understanding of local building and Energy Codes required 

 

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration

  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site

  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
