Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of product quality, product inspection, overseeing the operation of the Quality Lab, and maintaining ISO compliance. This role will involve interaction with all layers of the organization with training and maintaining strict compliance to quality system documents and procedures. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, solid organizational skills, friendly disposition, and in-depth knowledge of the product line are all required to effectively perform this job. This position in the company is crucial in securing existing business and supporting the sales growth of the company.
Job Duties
Administer policies and programs ensuring that the organizational products and processes meet established quality standards.
Participate in the development, implementation and administration of an organizational quality management system and monitor progress against strategic quality-related goals.
Solicit internal and external feedback with the goal of continuously improving processes and products.
Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to assist in Lean manufacturing improvements
Ability to manage multiple quality issues (Cases) from inception/discovery to resolution.
Maintaining an accurate review timetable for Cases and comprehensive answers is a vital aspect of the role.
Maintaining and reporting any Quality metrics to Management on a monthly basis (minimum)
Maintaining the ISO certification of the company, overseeing a rigorous internal audit schedule, and the prompt resolution of any Corrective Actions.
Interface with external labs and testing agencies (UL, CSA), as needed
Provide assistance to MSI Management in conducting on/off site quality training.
Participate in Management Review and represent the company at corporate level Quality functions.
Support engineering projects and assist in prototype design & development.
Support production of samples for testing, promotion, and marketing functions
Provide technical support on questions pertaining to telecommunications product applications from customers, engineering firms, MSI sales, and MSI customer service.
Assist in cross-referencing products for MSI sales and MSI customer service.
Assist the marketing team in developing materials to highlight benefits of our Quality System.
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or comparable field
Knowledge of basic engineering principles and their application to product design and development
Excellent Computer skills – (MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Must have creativity, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers
5 years of experience in a Quality role
