Junior Research Strategist at Kickstand

Kickstand, a global, full-service PR firm, is looking for a Junior Research Strategist to join its team. This position is an ideal fit for a candidate with an analytical mind, a proactive nature, and superior written and verbal communication skills. Previous research and/or content creation experience (full time or internship) is a strong plus, but not required.

This is a full-time position based in Austin, TX.

Junior Research Strategist responsibilities include:

Client Relations & Account Support:

  • Support multiple agency accounts, both consumer and B2B

  • Ensure all administrative tasks related to research (e.g. data cleaning, coverage tracking, news pulls, email follow-ups, outreach lists, etc.) are completed promptly and accurately

  • Ensure speed, accuracy, and confidentiality across all client correspondence

  • Attend and actively participate in client meetings

  • Brainstorm relevant and timely topics of interest across a variety of brands and sectors

  • With guidance from senior research staff, the Junior Research Strategist will:

  • Regularly draft both short and long-form content

  • Construct research surveys that yield high-quality data

  • Apply statistical comparison formulas to reveal comparative data

  • Accurately analyze data and communicate findings in digestible and engaging format

Internal & Team Support:

  • Attend agency events

  • Participate in relevant continuing education

  • Participate in team brainstorms, as well as in training and planning sessions

  • Help develop and grow a strong agency culture

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Above-average mathematical and analytical ability

  • Able to draft engaging on-brand written content across a number of client accounts in keeping with brand and style guidelines

  • Basic knowledge of print, broadcast and digital media

  • Interest in technology and ability to keep abreast of industry news and current affairs

  • Ability to deliver under tight deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)

  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and stay organized

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Polished, professional, and approachable manner

  • “See a problem, solve a problem” mentality

Required Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred, but will consider outstanding candidates with practical experience

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Mail)

  • Experience with Survey Monkey/Momentive, crosstabs charts, and/or basic graphic design a huge plus (but not required)

  • Basic comprehension of statistics (and a willingness to learn more)

Starting Salary is $45,000 per year
