Associate Accounting Coordinator at TransCore LP

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Associate Accounting Coordinator to join our team in Dover, Delaware.

Summary:  The Associate Accounting Coordinator will process incoming payments to the service center quickly and accurately. Responsibility includes departmental cash out and proof process as it occurs throughout the workday and assisting the Finance Manager with activities within the Service Center to ensure that financial integrity is monitored and maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Keeps track of received data and source documents.

  • Prepares and sorts source documents, and identifies and interprets data to be entered.

  • Contacts preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.

  • Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer.

  • Compares data entered with source documents to detect errors.

  • Makes necessary corrections to information entered.

  • Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.

  • Reviews error reports and enters corrections into computer.

  • Transmits entered information into database.

  • Files or routes source documents after entry.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding entered data.

  • Creates and logs check batches from incoming mail.

  • Processes installment agreement payments.

  • Creates and maintains performance tracking spreadsheets.

  • Posts incoming violation and collections payments.

  • Processes mail-backs.

  • Performs Violation Processing System (VPS) payments proof process on a daily basis.

  • Verifies other representatives’ VPS work on a daily basis.

  • Maintains filing system and archives financial files.

  • Supports the Service Center for customer service phone calls by responding to incoming phone inquiries regarding E-ZPass accounts, violations, and DMV.

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Skill: Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.

Job Complexity:  Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.

Supervision:  Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instructions only on new assignments.

Experience:  Typically requires a minimum of 0 – 1 year of related experience.

Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
