About the Role
A Site Reliability Engineer is primarily responsible for the monitoring, alerting, and performance of our cloud hosted environments. They are a reliable, hands-on presence with expertise in scalability, kubernetes and other cloud technologies. A Site Reliability Engineer is expected to handle technical challenges with a good attitude. This is a remote position with on-call duties.
Ensuring that effective monitoring, alerting, and performance metrics are in place on all key systems.
Implementing automation to improve and enhance the reliability and scalability of our platform.
Writing and maintaining documentation/procedures for maintaining and monitoring cloud systems.
Performing regular on-call duties with a team of other Site Reliability Engineers.
Kubernetes, Terraform, New Relic, MySQL, and AWS experience.
Experience troubleshooting performance in web applications.
Ability to respond to on-call alerts after hours, or on weekends, when necessary.
The ability to mitigate risk and properly plan, to avoid having on-call alerts after hours or on weekends.
Friendly demeanor and strong relationship building skills.
Experience with Git.
Python, Golang or similar programming / scripting experience.
Other cloud experience (GCP, Azure, IBM).
