Job Title: Project Engineer – Portland, OR

 

Job Summary: The Project Engineer (PE) performs different functions assigned by the Project Manager. These tasks may involve tracking submittals, RFIs and material procurement as well as general document control.

 

EssentialDuties and responsibilities:

Create/track RFIs

  • Research and resolve project issues

  • Coordinate with field to propose solutions

  • Review contract documentation

  • Coordinate with suppliers for technical questions

Create/track submittals

  • Request/review from suppliers

  • Review against job specifications

  • Issue/track submittal with GC for approvals

  • Make corrections as noted from GC team

  • Ensure material ordered matches submittal

 Estimating cost impacts

  • Assess RFI responses and owner/architect driven changes

  • Evaluate schedule and other trade impacts to productivity

Project integration & scheduling

  • Attend project meetings

 Issue/track vendor purchase order

  • Track vendor shipments and confirm onsite delivery dates.

  • Assist with procurement of major equipment and subcontractors.

Project closeout documentation

  • Work with vendors, subcontractors and field personnel to provide O&M documentation, As-built drawings and resolve punch list items.

 

 Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA in construction management, engineering, or relevant field experience.

  • Basic understanding of electrical construction and materials.

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS word, MS projects & Bluebeam.

  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

  • Familiarity with Accubid and Starbuilder a plus.

  • Experience creating spreadsheets for job tracking/costing.

  • Ability to work effectively independently or in a team environment.

  • Excellent/proven customer service skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to provide support to Department and Project Managers in all areas needed on a daily basis.
