Based in Midland, Directions Workforce Solutions Incorporated, a registered charity, is looking to recruit an experienced and proactive individual to join a small but very busy team. 

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, where no two days are the same.  Reporting to the HR | Finance Manager, the role will be to complete timely and accurate payroll processing ensuring compliance to a wide range of awards and industrial instruments.   

Below are some of the key activities you will be required to undertake:

  • Interpretation of awards and applying these rules through payroll

  • Complete set up and ongoing changes to employee details regarding payroll such as increase in salary and other employee pay entitlements

  • Liaise with managers and host companies to ensure resolution and timely processing of pay related matters

  • Resolve and assist employees with pay queries

  • Proactively looking for areas of improvement with systems and processes

  • Maintain an efficient document control and filing system to ensure employee information is readily available

  • Processing of government incentives and other administration duties

 To be successful in this role you will possess

  • a minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll, dealing with multiple awards within a complex organisational structure, group training organisation or labour hire

  • experience in processing high volumes of online timesheets in 2.5 days

  • experience in Workforce One (payroll system) would be advantageous

  • significant experience dealing with multiple modern awards including Building and Construction General On-site Award, Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award and Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award

  • must have a pleasant demeanour in dealing with clients and employees

  • demonstrated ability to be organised, prioritise work, and manage time effectively

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • skills in using Microsoft Office, in particular Excel

  • Australian citizenship, Permanent Resident or relevant right to work visa
