This hybrid role will be primarily based in our Washington, DC office to support our east coast and mid-west operations but may require occasional travel to other Interface office locations including trips to our Portland, OR based headquarters. The incumbent must reside within commuting distance of Washington, DC.

What You Will be Doing: 

As an Interface Engineering Systems Administrator, your duties will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Aiding our Desktop Support team to proactively manage and triage support requests from our employees and provide on-site hardware support and troubleshooting when necessary.

  • Configuring Microsoft 365/Azure and Windows Defender policies. Responding to emerging threats and security best practices. Investigating and following up with employees regarding phishing, malware, and other security incidents.

  • Auditing and monitoring on-premises and cloud-based reporting tools for overall system health and security.

  • Assisting in maintaining Microsoft Intune MDM and related policies and ensuring all Interface-owned workstations are properly enrolled in Intune.

  • Supporting administration and monitoring of on-premises Windows servers and systems. Ensuring Windows Servers are properly updated and maintained.

  • Supporting other IT Team initiatives and projects.

The Successful Candidate Should Have: 

  • 1-3 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, MS Teams, Intune, and Windows Defender.

  • 1-3 years’ experience managing Windows Active Directory and Azure Active Directory. Experience with Group Policies preferred.

  • 1-3 years’ experience maintaining and monitoring Windows Server 2016+ infrastructure.

  • Exposure to VMware ESXi environments is preferred. Familiarity with VMware Horizon VDI is desirable.

  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting is desirable.

  • Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages is preferred.

  • Reliable self-starter with strong organization/task management skills, and high attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with technical and non-technical staff and leaders.

  • Creative problem resolution and troubleshooting skills. Able to adapt and automate processes to eliminate frequent problems.

  • Able to identify potential security and system risks or enhancements and recommend proper mitigation or improvement strategies.

  • Able to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products using technical documentation, internet sources, and internal resources.
