The Fairmont Washington, D.C. is seeking a friendly, organized, detailed-oriented, accounting professional to join our team. The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for offering timely and friendly service to hotel Clients by compiling and maintaining accounts receivable records and performing the following duties in an accurate manner. With attention to detail, time management and organization, the accounts receivable clerk will complete his/her duties in a way that protects the financial integrity of the hotel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a positive service attitude at all times, willing to help internal and external guests
Assist and prepare group, wedding, catering and embassy/diplomat billing
Follow up and maintain master accounts, house accounts and promo accounts
Process all guest refunds as and when requested
Assist with guest requests with folios, credit card transactions and billing queries
Liaise with Reservations, Sales, Catering and Banquets team as and when needed
Process any commissions for group, transient or catering evening based on contracts
Assist in processing advance deposits for groups and catering programs based on deposit schedule
Consistent follow up with clients and group contacts for payment of group and catering invoices
Process and maintain parking sticker distribution and reconciliation
Go through deposit ledger for any refunds on cancelled reservation when required
Assist Credit Manager with month-end task or other requests when required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum high school diploma required;
Previous Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
Past hotel experience is helpful
Must have excellent cash-handling experience.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have basic computer skills.
Must be knowledgeable of accounting principles
Excellent written and verbal skills
Strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills
Able to solve problems in a timely and efficient manner
