Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist at Cozen O’Connor

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing a variety of transactions in an accurate and timely manner. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review/approve electronic vendor invoices utilizing Chrome River software

  • Review/approve electronic expense reports for firm issued credit card & expense reimbursements in Chrome River software

  • Initiate various vendor payments by checks, ACH, credit card & Zelle in Aderant Expert

  • Initiate wire payments through various banks for domestic & international payment requests

  • Initiate book transfers between intercompany bank accounts with various banks

  • Assist with Accounts Payable helpdesk and provide support to internal employees as well as external vendors and clients

  • Set up new vendors in the financial system

  • Responsible for specific office locations and provide targeted customer support to these offices

  • Serve as a back-up with other A/P specialists as needed

  • Other duties and administrative support tasks as required

  • Assist with ad hoc projects as necessary

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience

  • At least two (2) years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a law firm

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), with skills in Excel

  • Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced, team environment with constantly changing priorities

  • Ability to effectively resolve issues in a timely manner using sound judgment, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Extreme attention to detail, proofreading, and accuracy of work

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal staff and external business partners

  • Ability to understand and keep abreast with the firm’s policies, procedures and business acumen

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members
