The Department of Health and Wellness Design invites applications for a part time administrative assistant. The Department of Health and Wellness Design is an academic department in the School of Public Health-Bloomington with 20+ full-time faculty, over 400 students enrolled in BS, MS, MPH, and PhD programs, and closely connected to Indiana University and Purdue University schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Informatics, Art and Design, Public and Environmental Affairs, and Public Health as well as other state entities including Regenstrief Institute, Inc., the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, IU Health and Eskenazi Health.

Job Summary
Serves as receptionist for departmental administrative office.
Screens and routes phone calls and walk-in visitors.
Assists students with administrative questions and needs.
Provides administrative support as needed by faculty, students, and staff.
Manages office mail; prepares responses to routine requests; creates and maintains word processing documents, charts, graphs, databases, and spreadsheets as requested.
Types, edits, and prepares documents, photocopies classroom and program materials.
Assists in departmental event and meeting preparation.
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
SKILLS
Required
Maturity and ability to work within a dynamic environment involving multiple and competing assignments and the ability to determine priorities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
Time management, project management, and problem-solving skills
Promptness, dependable attendance and strong critical thinking skills
Ability to undertake responsibility with minimal supervision
Computing/technical skills that allow for the accomplishment of various operational assignments as well as for information to be documented and stored in appropriate databases
Preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Telephone, Photocopier, Printers, and Fax
Ability to ascend and descend stairs; Extensive computer use that creates visual strain; Ability to move or carry boxes and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds; Reaching high areas of storage cabinets to retrieve supplies, Ability to have mental concentration to resolve conflicts for periods of time; Ability to manage stress in daily interactions with faculty, staff, students, and guests.
Mondays are in the SPH-B, Wednesdays and Fridays are at the Innovation Center.
$14.50 per hour
Monday-Wednesday-Friday
8:00am to 5:00pm
