Salary: $90,646 – $106,365 p.a.

Generous salary packaging: $15,900 p.a.

Professional development incentive: Allowance of $1,300p/a

About us

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.

Anyinginyi consists of four different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients’ physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

Anyinginyi’s mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

It also has sporting facilities (e.g. swimming pool, basketball courts, tennis court, football ground, car racing track), and several tourists attractions within easy reach Like our Beautiful Lake Mary Ann!

About the Role

Reporting to the Health and Medical Executive Manager, this position involves the management and coordination of key administrative functions to ensure a high standard of care is provided to our clients in a culturally responsive manner.

The administration manager will oversee the day-to-day administrative tasks of the Health Centre. The position supervises the Health Centre’s Medical Correspondence, Client Support Officers and Aboriginal Liaison Officers.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily duties of the HSS Administrative Team (Client Support Officers, Aboriginal Liaison Officers, and other administrative roles within the health services section) ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  • Ensure that all client transportation is undertaken in an efficient and safe manner

  • Coordination of all Medicare administration processes within Anyinginyi Health guiding the Clinic Administration officer with administrative Medicare functions.

  • Participate in Communicare administration tasks including development of new templates, data extraction and auditing.

  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Services Manager and the Manager of Allied Health to ensure administrative and liaison positions in those clinics are back filled and staff in those clinics are adequately trained and supported.

  • Oversee and order, as required, administrative tools and equipment for efficient use. i.e., toners/inks for photocopy/printers.

  • Build a reputation for the Health Centre & enhance services

About you

To be considered for this role, you must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Descent as this is an Aboriginal Identified Position and you must obtain Cert IV in Administration or 5 years’ experience within Health Care Administration. The Administration Manager must demonstrate the ability to function as an essential part of a management team and to work successfully with other professionals in the management of health care services.

Proven ability in clinical records management & preparation of quality documentation including reports, letters, policies & procedures. Demonstrated Leadership, people management skills and organisational abilities. This position requires high level of communication, interpersonal and negotiation skill particularly with senior clinicians.
