Description

The IT Quality & Test Lead supports enterprise IT projects as a subject matter expert in software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, quality assurance, and testing across Agile and Waterfall environments. This role leads quality planning, manual testing coordination, defect management, and automated performance testing.

Working closely with Project Managers, business stakeholders, developers, analysts, testers, and vendor partners, the successful candidate will ensure quality requirements, testing evidence, compliance controls, and release-readiness activities are addressed throughout the project lifecycle. Strong leadership, meeting facilitation, communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SDLC and QA subject matter expert for assigned projects using Agile, Waterfall, and iterative delivery methodologies.
  • Lead quality planning and incorporate acceptance criteria, testing requirements, quality checkpoints, control checkpoints, and release-readiness activities into project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain SDLC/Quality Plans, Test Plans, Test Approaches, test schedules, quality documentation, metrics, and testing evidence.
  • Ensure QA deliverables are accurate, complete, timely, and aligned with established standards.
  • Apply applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, including SOX controls, throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain audit-ready project repositories containing quality artifacts, testing evidence, control evidence, traceability, and required approvals.
  • Facilitate peer reviews, quality inspections, test kickoff meetings, and daily defect reviews.
  • Lead and coordinate system, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Define testing scope, strategy, timelines, test cycles, entry and exit criteria, and success metrics with functional and technical teams.
  • Coordinate readiness of test environments, testing tools, test data, monitoring, and user access.
  • Guide technical and business resources in developing test scenarios and scripts.
  • Manage the defect lifecycle, including intake, triage, prioritization, tracking, reporting, retesting, and closure.
  • Collaborate with technical, functional, vendor, and business teams to investigate defects, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution.
  • Assess and communicate the impact of project changes on testing scope, schedules, quality, and execution.
  • Facilitate performance testing discovery sessions and develop test strategies, scenarios, workload models, and execution plans.
  • Create, maintain, and execute OpenText LoadRunner performance and load test scripts using Virtual User Generator (VuGen), including parameterization and correlation.
  • Configure and execute performance test scenarios, monitor results, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate remediation and retesting.
  • Report quality metrics, test status, defect trends, compliance status, risks, and readiness assessments to project teams and leadership.
  • Support Project Managers with quality schedules, stage-gate presentations, documentation, and tracking of project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Escalate quality, compliance, SDLC, testing, and audit-readiness concerns to appropriate stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience on enterprise IT project teams, with demonstrated quality assurance and test leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and iterative approaches.
  • Experience leading manual testing, UAT, and defect management across IT and business teams.
  • Hands-on OpenText LoadRunner experience, including VuGen scripting, parameterization, correlation, scenario configuration, execution, monitoring, and results analysis.
  • Experience coordinating automated performance and load testing.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements, including SOX controls, as applicable to IT projects.
  • Strong meeting facilitation, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize workload, and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OpenText ALM/Quality Center and LoadRunner Cloud.
  • Experience with Planview tools, including AgilePlace, ProjectPlace, and Portfolio.
  • Power BI report creation experience.
  • Familiarity with GitLab, Confluence, and other Agile collaboration tools.
  • Experience with additional automated testing tools and processes.
  • Project management, Scrum, or Agile certifications or training.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and agents.
  • Interest in developing broader project management skills.
