Junior Project Coordinator (Freelance) at Top Hat

Top Hat is seeking Junior Project Coordinators to coordinate the publication of custom textbooks, dynamic courseware, and lab manuals authored by college professors. This individual should be able to meet demanding deadlines and handle multiple projects at one time.

Openings: 5

Pay rate: $26 USD per hour

Contract length: January – September 2023

Hours per week: 40 hours

 

You will:

  • Specialize in supporting custom Individual Authors as their primary project manager as they create custom textbooks and lab manuals for higher education

  • Run onboarding sessions for custom authors who may also require training as part of their journey with you

  • Manage a verification process that often requires close collaboration with the content sales team to navigate successfully

  • Project manage your authors and ensure they are completing their project on time and are producing high-quality products

  • Meet with the authoring professor virtually (on average 8 times) before their first day of class, and will also manage deadlines via email outside of these sessions

  • Provide instructional design throughout the process on how to best structure the book in alignment with the author’s goals

  • Monitor the quality of the work that the custom author is producing throughout your project management sessions and flag any issues that would prevent the book from being published

  • Work with our Content and Permissions team to ensure the content is copyright compliant

  • Oversee all editorial services required for your projects

  • Keep Salesforce records up to date  and complete general admin duties between sessions

  • Make sure new pricing is finalized, applied to the course, and accurate before students enroll

 

You are:

  • Someone with an undergraduate degree

  • Familiar with managing concurrent tasks or projects while keeping them on track

  • Passionate about customer service and delivering a great experience to our professors and students

  • A strong oral and written communicator, copy editing or proofreading experience is an asset

  • A quick learner, self-starter, detail-oriented, and have an energetic attitude

  • Collaborative, you thrive working cross-functionally with others

  • An efficient planner with superb time management and organization skills

  • Highly adaptable – change doesn’t faze you!

  • Someone with existing experience in higher education, publishing, or instructional design is a plus
