Ardurra is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to join our team in Carson, CA.

Ardurra is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support our Construction Management practice in Southern California. This position will support complex public infrastructure projects, including sewer, landfill, treatment plant, pumping facility, and other water and wastewater improvements. The role will be based primarily out of the Carson field office, with partial remote work available, and will work closely with public agency clients, contractors, consultants, and engineering teams throughout construction.

Primary Function:

This position will provide construction management and contract administration support for large public infrastructure projects, including sewer rehabilitation, treatment facilities, pumping plants, electrical improvements, and other complex construction assignments. The Project Engineer will oversee construction activities, troubleshoot engineering and construction issues, review contractor documentation, and help ensure projects progress in accordance with contract requirements, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in the field while also collaborating closely with supervising engineers, contractors, consultants, agency staff, and other project stakeholders. This position requires strong written communication, sound judgment, and the ability to transition effectively between field oversight and office-based construction administration.

Primary Duties:

• Oversee construction activities and resolve construction and engineering issues.
• Review contractor extra work claims, change proposals, project schedules, and pay estimates.
• Track project progress and evaluate impacts to District operations.
• Coordinate with District departments, contractors, consultants, and other agencies.
• Prepare monthly project progress reports.
• Manage RFIs, change orders, claims, project closeouts, and on-site construction oversight.
• Support sewer, landfill, treatment plant, pumping facility, and related infrastructure construction projects.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Five (5)+ years of experience in construction management.
• Strong technical writing, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
• PE license preferred, EIT Required
• Experience with cost estimating and scheduling.
• Experience with construction administration for large industrial facilities, advanced processes, and treatment facilities.
• Experience with electrical power distribution improvements, pumping plant replacement, and sewer construction or rehabilitation, including slip lining and CIPP.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Oracle Unifier, and/or Procore.
• Experience working with the public and managing construction-related complaints.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex construction issues and transition between office-based contract administration and field construction oversight.
• Ability to support night and weekend construction activities as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000 annually. The firm also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k)-retirement savings plan.
