About the role

As a Senior Software Developer (.NET) you will be responsible for the design, implementation and testing of our core systems and positively contribute to the team and the organization as a whole.   As a Senior member of the team, you will provide mentorship of good practices to junior members of the team. 

Other key areas of responsibility will include:  

• Developing a working knowledge of the software architecture and how it supports the business goals;

• Designing, developing, maintaining and supporting highly coherent, secure and testable .NET code;

• Implementing automated tests (unit, integration etc);

• Actively contributing to the Agile environment in which GP AU/NZ operate:

• Staying abreast of the advances in the technology domains they relates to good software design, development and release practices;

• Collaborating with the business and other practice members to ensure adequate and effective documentation of applications, processes and business rules;

• Providing assistance to service support teams to assist with troubleshooting issues and incident management when required.

About you

This position would be well suited to a result-focused, detail-oriented developer who loves delivering outstanding solutions. Being a senior member of the team, you are also a natural leader, who can support junior team members and mentor them in areas of their professional development.

You will also bring: 

• Minimum of 5 years commercial experience in software development;

• Strong skills in the .NET framework (.NET, .NET Core), specifically C#;

• Significant experience in the design and deployment of cloud based API’s;

• Understanding of Microsoft SQL databases and development best practices applicable to each platform. Preferably experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. relational databases such as AWS RDS or GCP Cloud Spanner and NoSQL databases such as AWS DynamoDB or GCP Cloud Datastore);

• A clear understanding of web technologies and how to leverage their features;

• Demonstrable experience in secure software development environments where threat modelling and penetration testing are in use;

• A high level of written and verbal communication skills;

• Analytical, conceptual and a problem-solving growth based mindset;

• Degree in Information technology or equivalent experience.
