H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm in Melville, NY seeks an entry-level Staff Engineer in our Mechanical/HVAC Department. This position will be responsible for the design of HVAC systems for industrial buildings, schools, firehouses and commercial buildings.
Job Responsibilities
Design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications for various large and small scale HVAC projects.
Assist in performing project administration including gathering information, writing reports, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
Coordination with other engineering and architecture departments within the firm
Client interaction and teamwork with other disciplines.
Other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
0-2 years of design experience in a consulting environment with an emphasis on HVAC projects
Experience preparing construction specifications and drawings
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
EIT desired
