Responsibilities

The Vice President, Global Presales is responsible for leading Octave’s worldwide presales organization and driving the technical win across all markets. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this executive will lead a global team of Solution Consultants, Sales Engineers, Solution Architects, Demo Engineers, Value Engineers, and Bid Response professionals across the Americas, EMIA, and APAC.

This role is responsible for establishing a scalable global presales operating model, advancing value-based selling practices, modernizing demonstration and proof-of-value capabilities, and strengthening technical sales effectiveness. The VP of Global Presales partners closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, Services, and Customer Success to accelerate growth, improve win rates, and deliver a consistent customer experience worldwide.

Location: Global; anchored to a major Octave hub with significant international travel (30-40%)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the global Presales organization across AMS, EMIA, and APAC, including Solution Consultants, Sales Engineers, Solution Architects, Demo Engineers, Value Engineers, and Bid Response teams.
• Develop and implement a standardized global presales methodology for discovery, demonstrations, technical validation, and proof of value.
• Drive technical win rates, presales effectiveness, and evaluation cycle improvements across all regions.
• Build and scale modern demo environments, value engineering capabilities, and structured proof-of-value frameworks.
• Partner with Sales, Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Services to improve competitive positioning and customer outcomes.
• Lead strategic customer engagements, executive presentations, technical evaluations, and high-priority pursuits.
• Oversee global RFP, RFI, and tender response processes, ensuring quality, consistency, and win-focused execution.
• Support cloud adoption and migration strategies for both new and existing customers.
• Develop and execute talent strategies, including hiring, coaching, succession planning, and leadership development.
• Establish metrics, reporting, and operational discipline to drive presales performance and organizational scalability.

Education / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of enterprise software experience, including 5+ years leading global Presales, Solution Consulting, or Sales Engineering organizations.
• Proven experience supporting large-scale software revenue organizations and complex enterprise sales cycles.
• Demonstrated success leading global teams across multiple regions, including Americas, EMEA, and/or APAC.
• Experience transforming presales organizations through value-based selling, modern demo strategies, and proof-of-value programs.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS, cloud migration, technical solution selling, and enterprise software architectures.
• Track record of partnering effectively with Sales, Product, Marketing, Services, and Customer Success leaders.
• Experience supporting highly regulated, mission-critical, or operational software environments preferred.
• Excellent executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 30-40%.

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct presales experience with mission-critical operational software, including EAM, APM, quality management, public safety, utilities, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Experience supporting cloud transformation and migration initiatives for enterprise customers.
• Experience leading global RFP, tender, or bid management processes.
• Experience demonstrating and positioning AI-enabled software capabilities.
• Additional language proficiency beyond English.
