$180000 – $220000
Job Description
A rapidly growing global fintech company is transforming how people send money across borders, making financial services more accessible to underserved communities around the world. Its digital platform connects families and communities across more than 70 markets, helping customers move money through faster, more accessible mobile-first financial experiences. Backed by leading venture investors and a team of more than 250 employees across 50+ nationalities, the company is expanding its product offering to include new financial services, cards, savings, and payments capabilities.
As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll help define the visual identity and product experience of a global consumer fintech platform. You’ll own the evolution of the brand, expand the design system into scalable infrastructure, and lead new product offerings from early concepts through launch. Working across Product, Engineering, Growth, Compliance, and Go-to-Market, you’ll have significant influence over product direction and the quality of experiences delivered across mobile, web, and internal tools.
This is an opportunity for a highly experienced designer who wants to shape both the products and the systems behind them. You’ll work on ambiguous, high-impact challenges involving new markets, financial products, and evolving regulatory requirements, with the freedom to prototype quickly, test ideas, and bring new experiences to customers in weeks rather than quarters. You’ll also establish the design quality bar for a growing team, using strong craft, systems thinking, and AI-powered workflows to accelerate execution.
The ideal candidate brings a portfolio demonstrating both exceptional visual design and end-to-end consumer product development. You’ll be comfortable operating as the most senior designer in the room, influencing roadmaps through research, prototypes, and shipped work rather than authority. This is a remote opportunity with the ability to work across a globally distributed organization, with locations including New York and London.
Required Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating both depth and versatility
Experience taking consumer-facing mobile products from ambiguous concepts through launch
Strong visual design fundamentals, including typography, visual hierarchy, information architecture, and content strategy
Experience developing and scaling design systems beyond component libraries, including tokens, patterns, documentation, and reusable infrastructure
Ability to translate complex customer needs and business challenges into intuitive, polished product experiences
Strong systems thinking, with an understanding of how individual screens connect to broader workflows and product architecture
Experience collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Growth, and other cross-functional stakeholders
Strong ownership and ability to independently drive ambiguous projects from concept through execution
Experience influencing product roadmaps and decisions through research, prototypes, and tangible deliverables
Excellent attention to detail, with the judgment to balance visual polish against speed and practical constraints
Strong customer empathy and a commitment to designing around real user needs
Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and high expectations for execution
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience in fintech, payments, remittances, marketplaces, or other high-trust consumer product categories
Experience designing products for international markets or diverse customer populations
Familiarity with financial services and the challenges of designing for regulated environments
Experience evolving a consumer brand while maintaining customer trust and usability
Experience designing motion, micro-interactions, and content patterns across mobile and web
Hands-on use of AI tools for prototyping, component generation, code-assisted design, and workflow automation
Ability to deliver front-end prototypes or implementation-ready work that closely reflects the intended design
Experience launching new product categories or building products from the ground up
Experience mentoring designers and raising craft standards across a growing team
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
Define and evolve the visual identity and product experience of a global consumer fintech brand
Own the expansion of the design system, including design tokens, motion, content patterns, reusable components, and documentation
Lead new product offerings from early hypotheses through design, launch, and measurement of customer and business impact
Establish and maintain high standards for visual quality, interaction design, and overall product craft
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Growth, Compliance, and Go-to-Market teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences
Translate ambiguous business challenges, new market opportunities, and regulatory constraints into practical product solutions
Use research, prototypes, and customer insights to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions
Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate prototyping, explore more concepts, and streamline design-to-development workflows
Partner with engineers to deliver high-quality implementations across mobile, web, and internal tools
Determine when design details require pixel-level precision and when pragmatic tradeoffs are appropriate
Help define the standards for what constitutes a complete, high-quality product experience
Raise the design capabilities of the broader organization through strong execution, collaboration, and thoughtful decision-making
