Hostess Brands, LLC, is a large packaged food company focused on developing, manufacturing, marketing, selling and distributing fresh baked sweet goods in the United States such as Ding Dongs®, Ho Hos®, Donettes® and Fruit Pies, in addition to Twinkies®, CupCakes, Voortman’s Cookies and Wafers.
The Human Resources Specialist supports the Human Resource Manager and field operations in one or more functional areas of Human Resources, such as recruitment and staffing, personnel record management, employee or labor relations, compensation, benefits, training and equal opportunity/affirmation action. The specialist uniformly applies corporate HR policies, procedures and programs within company policy/procedures an dfederal and state law.
Responsible for administration of human resource programs such as payroll, timekeeping an dattendance, benefits, federal and state compliance reporting and unemployment claims
Assist in the administration of human resource programs such as recruiting/hiring, compliance programs, including EEO, AAP, drug and background investigations, related reporting, talent management, employee relations and training
Provides customer service to employees by answering human resources processes and programs; provides accurate and timely information to customers
Responsible for all data maintenance of new hires, transfers, promotions, changes in pay and termination in HCM system
Ensures all HR administrative and /or clerical functions including processing all necessary employee and departmental paperwork are approproately completed
Compiles and maintains personnel records and medical files within regulatory guidelines
Assists in the full life cycle of recruiting efforts of HR and hiring managers to fill open positions in a timely and efficient manner. Understands and applies the company’s fair employment policies and procedures to create a non-discriminatory work environment
Responsible for on-boarding activities including all I-9 and other federal and state new hire compliance activities and reporting requirements
Investigate employee complaints, assist with counseling and recommend action on employee relations matters
Conduct employee and supervisor or orientation and training that may include but is not limited to company policies, benefits, safety and sexual harassment training for new employees
Bachelor’s degree, preferable in human resources of related field
Professional certification a plus (PHR or SPHR)
At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the area of human resources
Food manufacturing background strongly preferred
knowledge of safety requirements and prior work in a union environment
Excellent oral and written communication and ability to work with all levels of management
Personal computer skills such as MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Kronos and HCM system such as SAP or Workday
Strong organization, analytical and project planning skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Work effectively and relates well with others, internal and external
