Registered Nurse at LHI Retirement Services

Registered Nurse (night duty) temporary

  • Part-time temporary position for 5 months (4 shifts per fortnight)

About the role

As a Registered Nurse at Lutheran Homes Fullarton you will report to the Care Manager and collaborate with clinicians and personal care workers to provide person-centred clinical and lifestyle care and services to our residents. Your passion for the enhancement of our residents’ quality of life will enable you to deliver respectful and professional care as you guide and lead the care team to provide services that are safe and effective and tailored to meet each resident’s needs, goals and preferences.

Key Duties

Utilising your nursing skills and knowledge you will provide a range of clinical assessment and care services to ensure that residents’ health and wellbeing is maintained. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Providing holistic assessment of residents in terms of their social, cultural, spiritual, psychological and clinical well-being

  • Continuously monitoring, developing and implementing care plans and interventions as required

  • Leading and encouraging the care team to understand their responsibilities and to perform to the best of their ability

  • Managing performance and staff development and escalating as required

  • Engaging with residents and other stakeholders to identify and address issues and concerns

  • Contributing to, and leading the care team in continuous improvement activities.

About you

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse

  • Minimum of 1 year working experience

  • Demonstrated clinical assessment and documentation skills

  • Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to bring out the best in others whilst simultaneously managing performance and development

  • Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills

  • Well-developed communication (face-to-face and written) skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of people

  • Self-directed and ability to work autonomously

  • Previous experience in aged care and dementia highly desirable.

Candidates are subject to a pre-employment medical assessment with the successful candidate requiring current Flu vaccination, COVID-19 vaccinations (2 doses and 1 booster), current NDIS clearance or Criminal History Check Certificate (Police Check) for the purposes of employment in the Aged Care industry working unsupervised with vulnerable groups, and working rights with no restrictions.
